Bloc Life connects community-based adaptive training with University of Kansas research. KU Life Span Institute researcher Lyndsie Koon works with AAIM athletes and coaches to study high-intensity functional training for people with disabilities.
The partnership brings research into working gyms, so participants keep training after a study ends. Researchers look at physical function, everyday independence, confidence and community, and athlete experiences help shape the work. KU Alumni’s November 2024 feature tells the full story.
